Agricultural implements for soil preparation
For soil preparation, primary tillage is done first with an MB plough or disc plough, followed by secondary tillage with a cultivator to make a fine seedbed.
Primary tillage
Opening the field after harvest, mixing residue and breaking compacted layers. An MB plough or reversible disc plough is used for this stage.
Secondary tillage
Breaking large clods and making the soil fine and level. One or two passes with a cultivator are usually enough.
सही समय और नमी का महत्व
जुताई तब कीजिए जब मिट्टी में उचित नमी हो — न बहुत गीली, न बहुत सूखी। सही नमी पर जुताई करने से डीजल कम लगता है और मिट्टी की संरचना भी खराब नहीं होती।
बहुत गीली मिट्टी जोतने पर ढेले सख्त हो जाते हैं और बुवाई के समय बीज सही गहराई पर नहीं बैठता।
